The Ol’ Mate Fire Pit is pre-treated with pure vegetable oil to protect the steel, with no paints or chemical coatings used.
- On your first burn, the vegetable oil will naturally heat and burn away as part of the seasoning process.
- After each use, allow the fire pit to cool until warm, then remove any ash or food residue. Apply a light wipe or spray of vegetable oil and remove any excess.
This simple step keeps the surface protected and ready for your next cook.
